Following last year’s market, I wanted to tweak one thing. Instead of measuring from the close of the final trading day of 2024, I’m measuring from the open of the first trading day of 2025 to the close of the final trading day of the calendar year.
Will revise description with 2025 opening info from Jan 2. Below:
Alphabet - $190.46
Amazon - $222.48
Apple - $248.95
Meta - $589.60
Netflix - $895.50
Update 2025-11-30 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Netflix stock split adjustment: Netflix executed a 10:1 stock split on 11/17/2025. The beginning of year 2025 price has been adjusted to $89.50 (from $895.50) to reflect what the stock price would have been post-split, ensuring accurate year-to-date performance measurement against the current stock price.

When I saw the Netflix bump had gone over $1,200, I audibly gasped, "JEZUS!" here at my gaming desk. Guess we as a society have to decide if we prefer movie viewing or allowing content farms to build our algorithm through social media for the rest of the year.
Well, it's been a strange day for tech; let's check i-OH MY GOD (never mind. It's not as bad as I thought it'd be, but still, you don't expect the Googles and the Amazons of the world to be 10% or more corrected in less than three months.)

Please bear in mind my posts of "start of year" reflect their opening price from 1/2 and not their closing price. This will explain, if you're tracking at home, why the numbers in this comment are slightly different from any YTDs you find on the web. I don't know why I make these things harder than they're supposed to be; I just do.
