This question resolves YES to the ten named films that are among Box Office Mojo's top 10 grossing movies (using calendar gross) for 2026 when I check it on 1 Jan 2027. This question will not resolve to untitled films or temporary titles.

  • Update 2025-08-11 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): - Any listed film that becomes postponed to 2027, marked TBA, or removed will be resolved NO.

  • Update 2025-12-01 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The "Other" option resolves YES if any unlisted film finishes in the top 10; otherwise it resolves NO.

  • Update 2025-12-01 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): No additional movie options will be added to this market beyond those currently listed.

From now on, any other postponed movie to 2027, TBA or removed, will be resolved with "NO".

bought Ṁ30 YES

@delfinasu if people can suggest other options, what happens to the option that literally says "other"?

@polymathematic “Other” resolves YES if any unlisted film finishes in the top 10; otherwise NO.

@delfinasu sure. but if i bet on other right now because i think the new hunger games movie is gonna be top 10, and then you add it as an option later, my bet won't pay out even if i am correct that hunger games ends up top 10. that is, in an independent market like this, "other" will only work as an option if you don't add options later. there's no mechanism to make sure it pays out the way it will in a dependent market.

@polymathematic OK. Then I won't add other movies. We stick with these.

I also changed Shrek 5 to The Devil Wears Prada 2 a few minutes after posting the question, due to delayed news.

No harm done.

No bet involved.

bettors note this is calendar gross (a very large disadvantage for November & December releases)
